I vaguely remember this taking place, but since I lived in the Central Valley of California, local news gave it just a passing mention. This is the first time I've seen the whole piece. I think it's funny, all the pomp and circumstance of a spacecraft launch, droning politicians, and the thumb in the eye attitude towards television media. A lot of it is prescient when considering modern media.

That Lincoln convertible is such a classic. Sure wish I had one.
