The EyeSee Mannequin

It's the newest innovation in mannequin technology. It watches customers with the camera installed in its eye, recording details such as age, race, and gender. It also keeps an eye out for shoplifters. Be cool to have one of these as a home security camera. Keep it standing in the window, watching everyone who walks up to the door. [Yahoo! News]

I see Expat sneaking up behind her and lifting that skirt. She needs some "eyes" in the back of her head.

Am I the only one who thought of the Weeping Angels?

It makes me think of an old 'Twilight Zone' episode where the manequins at a store get to be human for a month each, taking turns.

If they're telling us about this then either 1) vaporware (non-existent except in a programmer's head) or 2) Old tech and is now being used as a ruse to mask the new stuff.

Anyhow, I like the bit about it being, primarily, a "marketing tool" instead of a security tool.

@BD #1: Mannequins are about the only females I can catch any more. The live ones move too fast.

@BD #2: I don't have to sneak, Dude, my animal magnetism draws them in so fast I have to use a club sometimes just to keep the ugly ones off of me.

@Patty: I remember that episode. The Twilight Zone was good stuff.
