Sluggo and Sluggetta live outside our back door. I feel sorry for them (they're domicillicly challenged snails down on their luck you know) so I roll them up and push them back into the drain every morning before it gets hot.

So, do you think that if I start feeding them food coloring that they'd turn colors?

I've been giving this some thought. I do like the color purple but I'd not see them thought of as outcasts from others of their species. Greece doesn't have the discrimination laws we do in the US and I wonder if that color would keep them from, eventually, finding a mobile home to live in.

My head hurts from all this heavy pondering so I think I'll take a nap now.

I have experience with one of its cousins, Ariolimax columbianus. Pretty much the same size and bright yellow.

Oh yeah, patty. Look for "Banana Slug". People in California keep them as pets. If you put some feathers on them they could pass for a parrot.

With slugs, there's no females to be slugged during sex. They have both male and female organs with some species penis fencing for the right to impregnate the other. After banana slugs mate, each partner chews off the other's penis. Aren't you glad you're human?

The first rule is NEVER BITE! Banana slugs look just like the ones above, only bright yellow. So, still, YUCK!
