i'd say the '50 computer techs would be astounded by how far we have come by now, and rightfully so. it is amazing what is possible now.

I'm sure they'd be totally awed by the advancement then quickly start thinking on how to improve even what we've got today.

KDP is right in that the changes have been mostly in speed an size. The whole binary system is still firmly in place and the logic of computing hasn't changed over much.

Wait for trinary(?) where each bit has 3 states. I can foresee it when they start using optics instead of wires.
