Weekend Hobos

In this 1991 article, the AP described "weekend hobos" as practitioners of a sport that was "catching on among business people and other professionals." I'm curious if that's still true. Are there a lot of people out there who take off their jacket and ties at end-of-work on Friday, and spend the weekend hopping trains?

There was a documentary I watched not too long ago focusing on "part-time hobo's" which was only from the last year or two most of them preferred to ride the rails. it was really interesting to learn their motive behind doing it.

I'd have to say that this is way better than them driving their Baby Beemers at 15MPH, while straddling the white line, blocking traffic, and texting their mothers.
