What Is It?
The creature pictured was pulled from a lake in Kitchenuhmaykoosib, Ontario Canada by a resident's dog during the first week of May. The Daily Mail is reporting it as a straight discovery, but I have my doubts. Opinions?

i hope its fake because its hideous. looks like a cross between a pit bull and an otter. and not the best features of either one.

Well, one thing it ain't is The Kitchenuhmaykoosib Monster simply because:
1) "Kitchenuhmaykoosib" ain't going to fit across any headline.
2) There ain't a reporter on any major news paper that can spell it
3) No TV reporter is going to be able to pronounce it.
Anyhow, there's another picture of the thing and it's either a beaver or, more likely, an otter.

its dead, the article at the link said a dog pulled the carcass out of a lake. and yes it does look like a river otter compared to the pics above. thanks dumbfounded.

I wonder how all the hair got stripped off its head like that. Snark mentioned mange, but in my experience, mange is a combination of hair loss and skin lesions. I don't see any lesions here.
