What’s In A Name

There has been some discussion in the DC area about a snazzier nick name than 'the nation's Capitol' for it. Some are using DMV for DC/Maryland/Virginia but I felt we here at WU could come up with some better ideas. Ideas more in line with California's 'home of the fruits and nuts' than NY's 'The big apple". Whadda ya say WUvians?

when the e-mail alert of further comments shows up it shows a portion of the comment but not the commenter's name till you hit the link. (don't know if yours is the same) that said, i read the comment and knew it was you for sure expat! as always you are the coolest. and i like chuck's name for it too.

i'd feel worse about dc's voting rights or lack there of if they hadn't repeatedly re-elected a crack addict as mayor till he couldn't serve due to being in prison. we already have places in the country with significant electoral votes where racist are continually sent back to congress(till the old coot died). or where corrupt convicts get the vote right up till they legally cannot serve due to being a felon. we don't need any more idiots voting, its bad enough already.

District of Calamity is great, and well used. District of Conglomeration is also appropriate. The jokes all are good, but the point of the article is, finding a nickname that Washingtonians would Like to have. Anyone from D.C. out there wanna chime in? No...sniper gotcha?
