World’s longest water slide or hoax?

This is a great rush to watch, and it made me sad to think it may be fake. What do you think?

I've also included the original German? (I've got to learn my country codes) website:

http://www.mach-es-machbar.de/

I've also included the "Megawoosh Philosophy" video by the jumper, whose purpose it seems is to "stimulate the whole organism".

I agree, Taed, it's a hoax and I'd add the absence of "news" coverage, etc.

it's gotta be a hoax. i don't believe he could have gotten up that much momentum especially on 2 buckets of water.

The proof is just looking at it. The splash that is made in the pool goes virtually straight up, no where near the angle of entry. It is also not big enough for the speed that he is traveling.

SPOILER ALERT

Shy a few nailed it. Quoted from his referenced site:

Microsoft did a hell of job, it’s really well thought through, and they must have used a computermodel of the jump. But I still think they really overdid the cancellation of friction. But once you take that as a given it isn’t really determinable. Erasmussimo was right about that. But the site (in German at least) is pretty clear about it. So perhaps I should now be giving off a spoileralert.

Microsoft says Bruno Kammerl does not really exist. This is the text in the ad: “Mach es machbar - mit Microsoft Office Project 2007. Den Mann ohne Angst vor großen Ideen – gibt es ihn wirklich? Auch wenn Bruno Kammerl eine Erfindung bleibt. Die Zeit ist reif für neue Helden.”

Or in English: “The man without fear for big ideas, does he exist? Even when Bruno Kammerl remains an invention (literally), in this case a better translation is a fabrication, or was made up.. the time is right for new heroes.”

in a movie or tv show it is special effects, when it is used to claim something happened that didn't that's fake.
