Adorable Albino Raccoons

" />
Three albino raccoons were found in Toronto. One is rare, but three in the same litter is amazing. So cute.

I don't understand, all that work to turn them loose in an urban area? The world has gone mad send in the Langoliers!

The problem with racoons is that they ARE so cute. But they don't make good pets and they can be terribly destructive when they start getting into your garbage or house. They are also a known carrier of rabies.

But they are still mega cute anyway and the world would be a little less beautiful without them.

I suspect a litter of raccoons could cause more damage than the Langoliers. They are very smart animals, but dangerous too. You'll note that the guy handling the babies was wearing heavy gloves. They missed an opportunity, the little ones should have been given rabies shots while captured. I read somewhere they are putting out food with an oral rabies vaccine for raccoons because they carry it so prevalently.

I had to abandon a house back around 1995. It involved some financial problems that resulted from trying to keep my second wife alive when she had cancer. The entire story of why is too long for here.

But the point is that the bank NEVER did anything with it and racoons got into the attic. From there they got into the rest of the house. By the time anything was done with the house it had to be torn down because the raccoon damage was too severe, and smelly, to be reconditioned.

the neighbors ended up having to call animal control to clear the nest out because there were so many of them they were starting to get into their garbage and threatening people who tried to stop them from raiding their garbage.

Yogi, that is what the banks around here are doing. Reposessing homes and letting them sit empty, then people break in and strip the copper pipes and anything else of value to cash in. Where as if the banks would have been forced to rewrite some of those loans to keep poeple living in the houses everyone would have benefitted. That's what happens when you hand corporations government funds with no requirements attached.

I think if the government had given the "stimulus" money to the homeowners to pay their mortgages with instead the whole problem would have been solved.
