They are really stretching me to attach the names of Oppenheimer, Einstein, and Gropius to these. Good for Baroque, but they look more limited than say, Lego or Erector.

That beats the cheap stuff given to kids now. Although the hardness factor could be a danger during a fight between siblings.

Erm... how is this weird? Is it only that it's in stone? Because if it's the shape, I've played with very similar sets, except those were in painted wood.

Well, in my eyes, it's retroactively weird, like those videos of airline travel in the 60s that I also post. Once upon a time these things were normal, but now, in our sad and decadent era of plastics and helicopter parenting, the notion of letting tykes handle stone toys is weird.

Kids still play withe stones. The throw them at each other all the time.
