Balloon Girl

1947: The entertainment at gunmaker Melvin Johnson's dinner party was a balloon-clad model whom guests (apparently a bunch of old men) shot at with a pellet gun between courses. To the guests' great frustration, the balloons failed to break.

They must have rigged the rifle to reduce the air pressure or.... it was a Benjamin with only one pump.

If you read the article, its powered by a rubber band (accurate to 30 feet!). The photo of a table-full of people taking aim is worth the click.
