Buck Nolan - The tallest clown

Buck Nolan claimed to be the tallest clown in the world. And since he was 7 feet 6 inches tall, that claim was probably accurate.

He reportedly turned down the role of Darth Vader, after which he was probably a sad, bitter clown. Plus, he was also once investigated for child molestation, so he was also a creepy clown. (Though I don't know if he was actually found guilty of the charges.)

Wow, a virtual unknown gets the break of a lifetime and turns it down! Think maybe it was that decision that festered in his gut? If he really was a pedophile then he got what he deserved, otherwise, I feel sorry for the guy.

I was friends with Buddy Nolan. Only the old farts around here would remember he was the organist for Lawrence Welk. He invited me to come play the old Paige organ at the Embassy Theater that rose up out of the floor.

What people don't realize is that the sound lags behind what you are playing so timing it to the old movies was a real talent.
