Something like this popped up on EuroSport a few weeks ago in the form of Foot Volleyball. While looking for a video of such I ran across a better explanation of the whole thing. You can watch the video by clicking here.

The original sport was/is called Takraw.

The Thai version is a sport the version from Burma,not so much, more like hacky sack on steroids! cool to watch though! Excellent link Expat!
