The Cow Illusion
The image below shows a cow, but most people struggle to see it without help from an explanatory image (which is below in extended). Once you see it, it's clear as day.

That photo is total crap. It looks like a photo of possibly a cow taken by a camera with Kodalith film and a flash. Overexposed cow and the immediate background too. Otherwise, this cow is wearing a fright wig and has a 4 to 6 inch peak in the middle of it's back, plus no legs.
As someone who has been around cows most of my life, I can attest that is a overexposed photo of possibly a cow with the associated overexposed underbrush (quite tall underbrush, I must add), is just visual gibberish.
As someone who worked in video for 45 years, my eyes have served very well at picking out crap images, and this is one of them.

This is a good example of the copy-of-a-photocopy effect. I should show it to people who send me old crappy forms (even though I sent them a new one several times) at the office. No, it's not an efficient way to save paper, Jenny!
