DeSotos in Space!

This subject line will definitely be the title of my next SF novel.

My 2ed car was a '51 with all those gizmos. The power searing was so loose you could bounce the wheels from left to right and back again with just a flick of the finger. The push button tranny, however, was smooth as glass.

As a kid, there was a neighbor who had what was probably one of the last DeSotos parked in his garage. I never saw him drive it but he did wash and wax it regularly. This was in the early 1960's after the demise of DeSoto and Studebaker and in my limited experience there were only Ford, GM, Chrysler and American Motors.

They should have expanded the market then maybe they'd have stayed in business.
