Dirt Sounds

For $100 you can pre-order a copy of a hand-made record that contains soil from the house (or rather, the plot where the house used to stand) where Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys grew up in Hawthorne, California. The record consists of "an 18 minute field recording of the location on an afternoon in 2016, almost exactly 50 years after the album Pet Sounds was released."

Only 100 of these dirt records have been made. Get yours at Small World.

I have my garden door open right now and through it I can hear at least two blackbirds competing with one another, a turtle dove, and another bird which I can't identify but which makes a nice treble trill. I don't think I need this one.

Or you could get Pink Floyd, furry animals and a Pict.
