Eterna-Crib

A Polystyrene casket for "still borns, fetals, and prematures" made by Filaform Co.

I think it was sold from the 1960s until around the 1990s.

The ad below appeared in the trade journal American Funeral Director, but I'm not sure when. I found it reproduced in a Czech-language booklet, Funebracka Romance (Funeral Romance), by Radovan Kratky.

Tiny caskets for stillborns, miscarriages, preemies, SIDS, etc. still look much like this today.
They are made of a material such that you do not need a grave liner or vault for burial.

@Patrick: so, no Styrofoam, but hopefully something more natural so that your child does not spend eternity polluting the soil.

Hi Patrick,

I think this time you were being the jerk, not him.

I do not understand how my comment about the material these caskets are made of was jerky.

@Patrick: I do not understand how my denouncement of putting Styrofoam into the soil strikes you as a personal insult. It was aimed at the producers, *obviously* not at you, unless you are employed by them.
