Florida Man Beer

I don't think there are many weird-news-themed beers. But back in March, Cigar City Brewing of Tampa created a special batch of Florida Man beer. It's an IPA with hints of grapefruit, mango and passion fruit. However, they made only 3,000 bottles that sold for $9 each at select retail locations in Florida. So probably all gone.

Are there any other foods or beverages named after weird-news themes?

None that come to mind, but then I don't usually wander the aisles of liquor stores looking for oddball labels. Also, I'm not sure about any beer that is described in terms of flavors that are ascribed to wines. Personally, I like a stout like Guinness or Harp. For a lager beer I like Anchor Steam Beer. Cheers!

I'm with KDP on his beer choices. I wander the isles of ALDI and Trader Joes for odd, off brand, cheap and often very good beers. I tell my guests they come from a remote, foreign secret source and they then heap complements on them for a five dollar six-pack. To be honest, the flavors motioned don't sound "manly" enough t really go with the label of a Man Beer. I do have a old bottle of Dead Armadillo Beer, but have yet to sample it. I will leave it to my heirs. The prices of these craft beers is getting outrageous. I can get two or three bottles of a cheap and tasty ALDI Riesling or Vin Rose wine for one bottle of Man Beer. I wonder if Boones farm wine is still made? Made it easy to bring forth the physical favors of the young ladies back in the day...

I found a beer years ago called "Dead Armadillo". Tasted like it, too.

Tadchem,

There is a very manly brew. I have had the Rocky Mountain Oysters on the grill but would prefer my brew to made of other things.

With a name like Man Beer I'd have thought flavors like cigar smoke and lady parts would be more likely. 😉
