Follies of the Madmen #326

1) Sturgeons are the ONLY ones to make caviar, therefore they are best by default, and the point is moot.

2) The mental juxtaposition engendered by this ad between a fishy taste and the taste of coffee is most unpleasant.

Um ... "caviar may also be used to describe the roe of other fish such as salmon, steelhead, trout, lumpfish, whitefish,[3] carp,[4] and other species of sturgeon.[5][6]"

Agree about the suggestion of fishy coffee. But don't say it too loud or some boutique producer will come up with it.

I thought steelhead was a type of salmon.

A Google search reveals a number of questions as to why "coffee tastes / smells like fish." Personally I've never encountered this.

I don't care for canned coffee. I buy whole beans, freeze the bulk and grind only what I need for a pot. That works out for me nicely.

Never mind fishy coffee. If caviar are fish eggs, then is the fish in this illustration serving up... its babies?!?!?!?
