I was thinking more about these guys as the prototypes for the PEP Boys. What is in the hand of the passenger?

The Western Auto Store advert on the same page is interesting - that chain was more of a general merchandiser.

KDP, I figure that's the staff St. Patrick carried when he chased the snakes out of (where ?) – Dublin.
The snake in the center seems to have dropped his bow tie.
