I can think of some incidents from my childhood where this would have been welcomed in the house. Drawing on the walls filled an empty space just asking for some decoration.

Household chores and the recent Supreme Court decision about Roe vs Wade does make one feel like she is living in medieval times, especially if she's a stay-at-home mom.
