David's doubly lucky. Lucky he got penetrated just shallowly enough, of course. But also lucky his father failed to remove the arrow. Outside of the sterile environment of a hospital, that could easily have been a very nasty infection, then probably meningitis, and possibly epilepsy or deafness. Leave the treatment of serious wounds to a doctor!
