I saw the photographer being interviewed and it was not photo shopped. The woodpecker escaped.

OK there was more to the article that I missed. Apparently the weasel was trying to feed on the bird. That takes a bit of the cuteness out of it.

No, Patty, animals act differently when nobody is watching. These two, obvious, friends with benefits were just caught out by some guy with more lens than usual.
