Gen Pets - Watch the video - Visit the Website—Is it real?

Genetically engineered pets -- or genpets are now available worldwide -- or are they?

Watch the video -- it breathes!! It blinks!!

Now visit the website and be creeped out by the kid hugging the plastic clamshell storage pod for -- GENPETS!!

For the doubters, here's a really scary statement -- quoting from the website

*Genpet™ life may vary depending on temperature and Genpet ™ freshness

If this is a hoax, I really appreciate the thorough website production. If not, I'm not sure I want one of these scary little things!!

I agree with StarThrower, I was beginning to believe that this might exist. I did wonder why they never showed any out of the packages though.. ❓

as soon as i read dna splicing was involved i knew there was no way. the creature is creepy. choosing your pet's lifespan is creepy. and that phrase about it 'imprinting' on your child- WAY creepy.

Well, I kinda figured that genetically modified creatures sold in blister packs was not "real". But, this should be a real toy for kids. The packaging alone would sell tons. I guess they would have to redesign it to use far less energy. Probably use a light sensor so that it becomes active when exposed to light maybe? Anyways you would sell a ton based on the packaging alone.

yes pablo, but they need to make it visually appealing first. as it is it would give little kids nightmares.
