Mmmmkay. I'll be first to comment on a tragic end to what would appear to be a tragic but, amazing nonetheless, life. I think I referred to MJ more than any other WU commenter so this will be especially hard for me. If you were to ask people in a survey to name a person they thought was "weird" then I am pretty confident that MJ would be, in the very least, in the top five. The man was a icon of weird. So I'm wearing one glove today. It's a catcher's mitt but that's all I had. Subsequently, typing this has taken a half hour. Here's to you King of Pop, Wacko Jacko, Moonwalker. Your heeee heeee oooooh chimon will live on forever.

micheal jackson was the coldest entertainer ever. he was 100% original. ALL entertainers after him have admitted to taking something from him and using it in their act/shows/songs/whatever. I highly doubt we will ever see a talent like his in our lifetime. Definitely not one who has impacted the world on such a level like this. Please do not forget the humanitarian side of MJ as i believe it may have been the most importnt part of him.

For those folks that enjoyed Jackson's performances I'm sure he'll be missed but the news media, even here in Greece, is just running this thing into the ground.

This is journalism:
Who: Michael Jackson
What: Suspicious Death at 50. Autopsy to seek cause.
When: 2 days ago
Where: In a hospital

The rest is bullsh1t!

STAN - please get off your soap box and stop weeping. Nobody is idolizing. The man was the worlds greatest entertainer and gave millions and millions of dollars to multiple charities around the world. His music spans generations. He put on concerts in places of the world where most couldn't even afford tv's or radios and they STILL KNOW HIS SONGS. U may not like him or all the aftermath from his death but 80% of the worlds pop. Does so suck it up.

Oh boy... you guys are either all for Mike or against him. So here's some middle ground. Completely unsolicited, as usual.

Michael Jackson was a tremendous talent. His affect on music as we know it will continue to affect generations of people long after his death. He was different and he stretched the current boundaries of Pop and opened doors for so many other artists to walk through. He was a show-man of the highest caliber. His contributions to music are legendary.

BUT, none of that makes him a good person. He was a freak, plain and simple. Maybe it was the corruption of stardom at an early age, since that seems to have been the reason behind the meltdowns of other celebrities. For whatever reason, the man was socially inept. His exploits are almost as legendary as his music... liking little boys a little too much, sleeping with a chimp named bubbles, owning the bones of the elephant man, redoing his face every two years, holding his baby off a balcony. The list is seemingly endless. So that end, there is no better place to pay tribute to him than WU.

Rest in peace, Michael.
