I love, love, love the "All visitors, they added, must buy round trip fares." statement. The government must get its due, even if it's driven you to kill yourself. I'm sure there were lots of people who wanted to commit suicide but felt forced to stop because it meant the 6Yen return ticket in their pocket would be wasted.

I'm not so sure about the certain death in the 'pit' of a waterfall. Seems like one might just come away with a good maiming.

It it's active enough to emit fire, as the article says, and therefore hot enough to melt rock, oh, I think you'll die alright. You won't get away with mere third-degree burns in molten lava.

How times have changed. I can't imagine a major newspaper using the word Jap in a headline describing something from that country. And when did Tokio became Tokyo?
