Nazi Germany, for all it's evil, was a wellspring of scientific advancements and theories. The super-critical airfoil (Ever flown in a Boeing 700series or an AirBus 300series?) that is used on most large aircraft today came right out of WWII. Ditto for the elliptical swivel wing design. So had they been given enough time and resources I believe they would have come up with space travel.

War may be hell but it does advance science. Just look at what the race to the moon did for us.
