A bunch of years ago I heard a story about an old stolen Cadillac in NYC. After about 2 months the cops called the owner to tell him that his car had been recovered. Fearing the worst, he went to the impound lot only to find that the thief had repaired the car, reupholstered it and put in a new sound system!!

Had my car stolen, twice. Both times it was cleaned, windows tinted, and had gas in the tank. Unfortunately it did not have stereo, a/c, or dash lights....so--it not being the spiffy ride wanted--they kindly ditched it the next street over about a week later.

I had a motorcycle stolen once. The idiots couldn't figure out how to turn on the gas and left it a couple of blocks away at the bottom of the hill. Doh! 😖

I once had a bicycle stolen in Jerusalem. One day while pushing a stroller through the old city, I spotted it. After a minor scuffle with the thief, I left pushing the stroller with one hand and the bike with the other. Wife wasn't happy

When the kids were little we had been in a wreck an were driving a rental car. We went to the mall one afternoon and were inside all of one hour. When we came out and the car was gone. They found it 2 weeks later in Cleveland, totally stripped. Even the diaper bag and car seats were gone. Yeah, great memories.

Here's the link for the story, that obviously isn't on the front page any longer.
