Nightmare Chimera

image

This creature must have haunted the dreams of many a youth back in 1959, for it still has the power to send me screaming today.

Pig snout, elephant ears, dog feet, fox tail. And the insouciant cigarette holder of FDR. This is worse than anything Stephen King ever conjured up.

Perhaps WU readers would like to submit their proposed names for this creature.

I'll insouciantly offer 'Chimmy the Chimera'.

Ok... Dudley the Dork.

(Really, Paul, you dropped insouciant on us on a holiday weekend???)

SUCRO the Magician.

If you've ever been into D&D, spell that first name backwards.

What I would want to know...is what the winning entry actually was, and did they actually ever get the prizes on offer?

Yeah, if I lived in the USA, I'd be scared of a cross between a pig and an elephant, too. I think we should call it Donald; put a blonde toupee on it and it looks like him, as well.

Jealousy rears its ugly head?

Mr Garrison, obviously. South Park had a whole episode centered on the idea of crossing an elephant and a pig for science fair. It seemed to work, but the results were oddly reminiscent of the teacher, rather than the elephant.
