Polish Film Posters

Well Medicated has posted a collection of 50 Polish film posters. I picked out three at random: The Empire Strikes Back, Rosemary's Baby, and The Getaway. Compare them to the American versions below. I like the Polish ones better.

Why is Yoda disintegrating?

KW- that is clearly a sign.

Personally the American Star Wars and Rosemary's Baby posters seem better designed than their Polish counterparts. The Polish version of "The Getaway" I prefer. I think that the officially released American Star Wars posters all had a very similar style. Even the prequel posters adhered to the design style. The American Rosemary's Baby poster is really powerful. The emptiness and small text gives a feel of isolation, a feeling you might have if you gave birth to the anti-christ. I would say "nice use of negative space" but that's pretty cliche. The Polish version of Rosemary's Baby seems like a cross between graphic novel design and art deco. It almost seems like a throw-back to theater posters.

Another thing I noted was that all the American posters include the faces of the main actors whereas the Polish versions don't. Well, you get Yoda in the Polish Star Wars poster, which I find to be a huge turn-on, but he isn't recognizable like Harrison Ford, Mia Farrow, or Steve McQueen.

Pablo - clearly a sign that Yoda needs some sudafed?? AND you find Yoda to be a huge turn on (I'm quoting you here... "you get Yoda in the Polish Star Wars poster, which I find to be a huge turn-on"). I think now we've found the real reason you want your chicks to wear a Yoda mask and it has nothing to do with snotty noses.

I like the American versions better, especially the Rosemary's Baby one.

Pablo, we all recognize Yoda but who are those other people you listed? "Harrison Ford, Mia Farrow, or Steve McQueen"
