Re-opens Under New Management

On August 8th, AD79 an eruption of Mt. Vesuvius destroyed the city of Pompeii. On March 21, 2010 what was a thriving snack bar in Pompeii will open once again. The thermopolium has been restored to ready it for reopening. The snack Bar was once owned by Vetutius Placidus, who was forced to flee so quickly that a jar holding approximately two days receipts in coins was left behind. A beautiful example of living history.
