Rorschach Money

image
The new Canadian $20 bill seems to be a bit controversial. People are saying they can see one or more naked women and the NYC Twin Towers on it. Although some are sighting concerns about offending people there seems to be no indication of a change of plans for the release. Naked ladies on money, that is just loony.

Would it be redundant to stuff these in stripper's G-strings? 😝

Hey, wait, is that naked lady the queen?

Kind of points up the sad state of geographical knowledge when a war memorial to Canadians located in France is mistaken for a U.S. landmark.

I weep for Western Civilization.

Yeah KDP, and not to mention they are seeing imaginary naked women in those war memorials. Then again considering ghost shows are the rage using cheap effects I could see through when I was 8 years old... People are going to see what they want to see. And apparently these people really want to see naked ladies. Really really badly.

Never been to France, but I did watch the towers come down in real time.

If that is a French memorial it should have a big white flag flying on the top 😕

Actually it's a canadian memorial which happens to be in france...

Basically, it symbolizes canadians becoming distinct from being mere british subjects and being recognized as canadians because the canadians on that battlefield were badasses hence it being on currency

Also part of the reason that it wasn't destroyed by the germans in world war 2 is because it is more of a memorial for the dead and for the war as opposed to a glorifying victory monument over germany

It's kinda the same sort of symbol as the alamo is for texas... except the canadians won the battle

Gak - that bill looks as if it was designed by a committee which couldn't agree on anything.

I'm constantly amazed at the lengths that some people will go to to be offended by something that usually only exists in their own head that they've projected onto something that has nothing to do with it. (I would have said mind, but... You know.) 🙄

As a life long professional female spotter, who is proudly following in his great-grandfather's footsteps, I don't see it/them!

FBS, honest I am not being an ass, but why is it in France as opposed to being in Canada? I mean France made us a lovely gift commemorating our sovereignty, but they gave it to us and it is proudly displayed over here on an island just off NY.

Patty it is on Canadian land. France ceded the land for it and the 250 acre park around it to Canada. Check out Wikipedia @ Canadian National Vimy Memorial. At the bottom of the page there are close up photos and you can see the bare breasted woman.

Came for the memorial, stayed for the hooters.

Here's the link to the Wikipedia page.

Thank you BMN. It looks quite different in the wiki pic than it does on the bill.

In Canada our two dollar coin (the "tooney") has a pix of a polar bear on one side and the queen on the other, which causes folks here to also refer to the coin as the "one with the queen with the bear bottom".

I agree with Captain DaFt. You can barely (no pun intended) see them, even on the full size monument picture on Wikipedia.

I haven't found a high resolution picture of the new bill yet, but I can't believe you could see nudity at all without several power magnification.

Also, I think Robert is right -- that has to be one of the ugliest bank note I've ever seen.

I keep looking for naked ladies, but all I see is the Queen, and that's just creeping me out.
