Richard, I gather that you looked at Lewis's history. "Hang on, Sloopy" was a minor hit for a number of artists, most notably in my experience for Rick Derringer, but I had no idea that Derringer did not compose it.

Maurice White, of Earth Wind & Fire fame came out of Ramsey Lewis. You should check out the very long Sun Goddess song. This link has it mislabeled as EWF / Ramsey Lewis.
