Your Daily Loser
He remains at large, so he's not yet a loser, but, still . . why would Silbestre Menera, 32, decide to escape from California's Stanislaus County Inmate Honor Farm on the day before his scheduled release? KCRA-TV (Sacramento)

Inmates being released are like kids before Christmas; the closer they get to that jubilant date (which will no doubt be filled with festivities and candy), the more anxious they get, unti lfinally, dizzy with giddy visions of parole officers and sugar plums, they can't take it anymore. They bounce out of their beds like enthusiastic tots, and run down the stairs, trying not to wake the guards with thri tittering and giggling. Then they peer wide-eyed at the free world outside and burst out in a manic dance of elation.

At least, that's how I imagine it to be.
