Stolta the Moose

There aren't many famous moose, except for Bullwinkle who doesn't count because he's fictional. So because Stolta achieved some fame in Sweden, that might make her the most famous moose in the world!

After her mother was accidentally killed by a train (circa 1900), Stolta was adopted by a lineman and raised like a tame horse. She pulled carts and sleds, including sleds carrying tourists. And in 1907 her fame was forever secured when she won a harness race against trained horses over an ice-covered lake. Some more info and pictures of Stolta at Nordic Thoughts.

In Stolta's biography, I like how it ends with a law being passed prohibiting use of moose as a draft animal. I'd bet that the motivation was the sore loser owners of those horses from the race across the ice.

Remember that when you are crossing an ice covered lake in a horse drawn sleigh, someone will be thrown to the wolves.

Stolta didn't need Boris or Natasha, She had that Ahole with a whip who's hobby seems to be Whipping up big troubles for moose (and squirrel)!

Other famous mooses (meese?):

Early astronomer Tyco Brahe (a real WU kind of guy) had a pet moose (often translated as elk) that got drunk and broke its leg:

Then there is always the most famous moose from Sweden, the majestik møøse of Mony Python fame ["a moose once bit my sister"]

Its great that someone took care of the calf instead of putting her down. She looked happy. I noticed the bit about the law too, you are probably right about the reason KDP.
