Sucked into the Social Network

Weird Universe is officially twitterfied and facebooked. Links to our social network pages can be found in the "About Weird Universe" box in the right-hand column.

There's no reason to visit Weird Universe's facebook or twitter pages if you visit here, since WU posts (or, at least, the titles) will simply be reposted on those sites automatically — with a slight delay. However, if you feel a need to "like" us, or "follow" us, you now can.

I'm of the opinion that only twits tweet and I don't think I could face much more weirdness than I already do but I like it. 😜

Expat47 -- I'm also a staunch non-tweeter, but I've grudgingly come to accept that there's a growing number of people who seem to think that facebook and twitter ARE the internet. Or, at least, they interact with the internet entirely through the lens of those social networks. So those pages are a concession to them. Plus, it requires almost no effort on our part. So why not.

Alex, no offense meant and I did "LIKE" y'all on FB afterall.

@KDP: If it weren't for FB I'd never know what the @#$@#$@ was going on with my kith & kin back in the homeland but plowing through mountains of "I just got up and saw the clouds. Do you think we're going to get rain today." is about enough to drive a sane man around the bend.

Twit is to Twitter as ignore is to ignorant.

But if it helps build site traffic go for it.

I think its a great idea Alex! I don't do the social networks either, but whatever brings us more WUvians to share our take on weird is a good thing.

Expat47 -- no offense taken at all. I've been anti-facebook and twitter for so long that I'm really just trying to convince myself that I haven't become a cheap sellout by (sort of) embracing them.

@Alex

I don't see it as selling out but rather as using a formidable marketing tool to build the WU site. I also don't much like Madison Avenue but without advertising we wouldn't even know about many of the things that are a part of our daily lives.

If I were in your place I would most likely do the same even if I did feel like I needed to take a hot shower afterwards.
