Tanuki

image
The adorable little guy above is not what you may think. He's a Tanuki, a raccoon dog. They are indigenous to Japan and while they are a bit different than other canines they are still in that family. They exist in the wild, but are also kept as pets like the one in the story at the link. I'd have sworn the little guy was an actual raccoon.

Not just Japan, other sub-species of raccoon dog live in mainland East Asia as well. And they've escaped from fur farms in western Russia, from where they've started to spread over much of eastern Europe - where they're a pest on a par with American raccoons except that they have no natural predators there. Cute, yes, but also a problem.

Oh, and they have big testicles. I can't imagine how Patty failed to mention that...

Most small dogs have what appear to be oversized gonads which may explain why the males are so hyper all the time. They're riding that 24/7 testosterone high.

Either they tree themselves or you need a *really* impressive hound.

Perhaps we need to import them to South Florida to prey on our out of control Pythons.

And of course Patty doesn't look at that end of the critter, she is as pure and innocent as Ivory Soap.

99 44/100% pure! And I SAID nobody tales pictures of that end, not that I wouldn't look. So must most of you be looking considering all the descriptions provided, not by me.

Not me personally - all I know is that they're infamous for it in Japanese mythology. Well, you know the Japanese and their weird fetishes...
