Unoccupied car bursts into flames

A short-circuit? Sounds more like the car was possessed.

Sounds more like demonic possession.

I had my car horn start blowing continuously while driving on a busy street in Madison back in my college days (late 60's). There was also a bit of smoke coming from under the hood. I quickly found a place to pull over and popped the hood so I could remove the wire from the horn. Knowing it was probably not a good idea to actually touch the wire, I thought quickly and used my plastic comb. Worked perfectly, although I had no horn until I got home, where I could calmly (and quietly) rewire the horn. My comb was done for, though, melted where it had been in touch with the hot wire.

I had a possessed food disposer once that would run when it felt like it, as long as someone was in the area of the kitchen sink. Remembering not to stick your hand down into it was highly recommended until the problem was corrected.
