Orchestra and dance band Nazis?!

Dance band Nazis aren't as weird, to me, as Soviet Union musical comedies.

Volga, Volga (1938) is about an inept, overbearing, and self-important government bureaucrat. It was Stalin's favorite movie.

Jolly Fellows (1934) has a shepherd being mistaken for a concert star. The last 25 minutes are the greatest slapstick ever! (This is on YouTube, but good luck getting it to play correctly!)

Tsirk (1936) shows what an American vaudeville dancer has to do when she has an interracial relationship -- escape to the USSR where she'll be loved and accepted in spite of her baby's skin color. (So, yes, it's blatant propaganda, but it's also very, very funny.)
