What makes Gay Edna happy?

Only Midol... washed down with a couple of shots of whiskey, I assume.

I should note that I suspect this isn't a real ad. The lettering looks too well-defined. Not to mention the name "Gay Edna". Probably one of those faux-vintage ads that circulate around the internet.

Alex, the style does fit with those found in mid-20th century magazine advertisements. But, that name! Who would be so cruel as to name their kid "Edna"?

Isn't she married to Smilin' Bob the Enzyte guy ? 🐛

Maybe she's Southern, and they named her Gay Edna like John Boy or Jim Bob Walton, or Sue Ellen Ewing.

So Smilin' Bob turned her gay by poking her with that thing all the time?

Gay used to mean something else. It would have been a suitable name for a girl. I think this was a attempt at a double meaning as both name and mood.

Of course, but it is fun to look back and see how much the slang and word use has changed over the years. And make fun of it a bit too.

If she doesn't take it, is she like Enola Gay?

The model not only looks Midol-calmed, she looks positively wired on bennies :wow:
