I agree on the quality of the music but the back story was fascinating. Who ever knows beforehand what will bring fame and/or fortune.

The last line strikes me as thoughtless of the speaker, 'the pep was gone'. Of course it was, after a lifetime of others using his illness to make money and then walking away because of the unpleasant side of it he finally got medicated and stopped cycling. I have seen people like this and as high as 'up' is 'down is just as low. People who cycle like this, if they commit suicide, do so when up because they do not want to go down again. Sad.

He was truly an original artist.
Once,as a joke i made a loop tape of the song merry go round and inserted it in the muzak player at a store of the same name. I then pressed play and locked the cabinet.(my friend the store manager had to break the cabinet open to shut it off)At the time it seemed like the best joke ever!
You will be missed Larry.RIP
