I guess it´s true, in a roundabout way, to say the workers left the cooker disconnected seeing as how they never delived it.

Mr. Slack gave its meaning to the expression "slacking". Maybe the Slacks could have used the war as an excuse for his slacking for the first six years, but the other fourteen are just a guy refusing to call the company (or let his wife do it) for fear of being accused of extreme procrastination.
