For the original price of a pair of jeans and a few hours work on one of my cars I can save $2420! What a bargain!

If a person pays $2,000+ dollars for a pair of ripped up filthy jeans you can bet on the following: that person has too much money AND they don't do manual labor. Pre-destroyed jeans will give the impression of hard work and not having the money to buy, and care for, a decent pair of jeans.

Sorry Bob. I went to the source, Bergdorf Goodman and the jacket is no longer listed. The link above leads to the proper page, but further searches for "destroyed" jeans, jackets etc don't show either one. And the ones displayed are no worse than any boutique shop might have in stock. For a tenth of the price.
