Mike The Headless Chicken

In 1945 a chicken meant to be dinner became, instead, the longest living headless chicken. For 18 months after being beheaded Mike, as he was later called, survived and was fed and watered with a dropper. Until one night, while on one of his many trips to be displayed for admission, Mike choked to death. Every year, on the third weekend in May, the town of Fruita, Colorado still celebrates Mike's memory with Mike's Festival.

Yes I am sure it was. I found the yearly festival story online and thought it was interesting.
