Heaven forbid that the catholic Church take on the characteristics of some of the charismatic christian denominations and sects.

Actually Rev. Shaw Moore is the antithesis of the dancing nun. He would have shut her down faster than the Pope.

Religious make a joyful noise type of ceremony. But most definitely not in keeping with a Catholic Mass whatsoever.

Heaven forbid also that a catholic have a good time at mass.

I went to Catholic school in 1st through 5th grades and it was the single most depressing church/school I have ever attended. They are all about confession and penance. Most of the nuns that that taught me were sour and dour regimentarians. I was in my late thirties before the scars from tin edged rulers faded away on my knuckles.

To illustrate...

A kid was having an extremely hard time at math. He didn't like it and refused to study diligently. So his parents decided to take him out of public school and enroll him in a Catholic school. In no time at all he was doing straight "A" work in his math class. When his mother and dad asked him why such a sudden and dramatic turnaround he replied "I knew they meant business when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign.

Back in the early or mid sixties they experimented with a "guitar mass" but as far as I know it never really caught on.

Video 1: Sorry, those of us over here can't be allowed to see it.

Video 2: I've seen this one before and I still believe that the young lady isn't blowing that horn! If I'm wrong (and I may be) I stand in awe of her abilities and thank her for the beauty she brings into the world.

Video 3: 15sec was enough for me. Koom-bye-ya!

REF: Mother Church
I spent my first 9 years at a Mo. Synod Lutheran run school. I was taught well by some really great teachers but if you think the Mackerel Snappers have a lock on "strict" you have my permission to give it another go.
