That's funny. A few observations come to mind:

Woodpeckers are enterprising creatures. They found an easy place to put the seeds and took advantage of it.
Imagine how long they had been placing those seeds before the microwave signal degraded enough for someone to notice.

It's been a few years since my electromagnetic portion of a physics course, but wouldn't those acorns be a little cooked / dried after all that time of being bombarded?

Woodpeckers are nuts anyhow! There used to be one by Mom's house that kept going after the transformer on the utility pole out back.

Expat: I bet he just liked the sound. Woodpeckers peck both to get at food and to mark their territory, and when doing the latter they like to go for "branches" that make a loud noise.

I bet if we opened up Tyrusguy's head we'd see quite a few nuts fall out ... hehehehe (just kidding) 😜

BTW I'm a little disappointed with the comments. Here I give you guys a nice set-up and nothing! Not one busy/big pecker with lots of nuts joke! I mean, a pecker with 300 lbs of nuts! come on people! 😛
