Yes, plants get stressed by environmental conditions. This is an ongoing topic of research and was recently popularized in "The Happening". In that movie one character says that certain plant's will attract wasps if they are threatened by bugs. This is indeed true and indicates that plants may be far more complex than most people generally thought.

Also, Limbaugh didn't need Limbaugh-strength painkillers he was just a drug addict. (Although I would have happily knocked him out whenever he had an ache or pain. Is there such thing as a punch addict?)
