Reelly Unbelievable

Li Chang, a 43 year old fishmonger in China, had a bad experience at work recently. He fell into a tank full of eels. The animals became frightened and started slithering around, some slipping up his pant legs. Then the unthinkable happened. An eel, that was described as being two fingers wide and as long as a man's arm, slithered up his rectum. He was initially too embarrassed to tell anyone, but when he began to feel significant pain he asked for help and was transported to the ER where the eel was removed. There was enough damage to require surgery, but he is expected to recover. That is one hell of a worker's comp claim!

we had a 'strange things removed from rectums' post a while back, but they were all inanimate objects. snopes says gerbiling is an urban legend so a story of a live animal up there was weird in my book.

he must have gotten a weird f-eeling when it happened too!

He's not out of danger, yet. The article cited severe injuries. If the eel, who may have been trying to eat it's way out, compromised the intestinal wall, sepsis could easily set in. Personally, immediately after exiting the tank, I would have been screaming, "Get this thing out of my ass!" :ahhh:

2 questions harvey, are you a farmer and how many fingers do you have???
Posted by Patty in Ohio, USA on 08/04/10 at 11:43 PM
Harvey, I've worked around those old farm machines back in the 50's 60's and you don't have to have in "impulse" to loose fingers and more. There are exposed gears, drive chains, belts, whirling chunks of metal, and then there are new born calves but, that's a different story involving a much different appendage.

Ah... the coffee's kicking in.

We're onto something here but don't tell 3M that their sales of duct-tape are about to plummet.
