Smoke Circles

Residents of Felixstowe are wondering what caused the giant smoke circles that recently were seen floating in the sky. One resident says: "They appeared for a good ten to 15 minutes. No-one had ever seen anything like them - they just rose slowly then melted into the clouds."

Could smoke circles be the new crop circles?

Not weird. My old diesel tractor blew smoke rings. They came out about two feet across and got bigger as they rose. It would puff out 10 - 20 rings when it started and a few more each time you put it in gear. They would last a good long time if the wind was calm. Any chemical processor using an old-style open combustion process (like a lime kiln, potash processor, or similar) could make these. The neighbors are probably newly arrived from London or Newark and will get used to it soon enough.
