SUV Lightning Strike in Russia

In the good old days, a lightning strike would be bad news, but your vehicle might still run.

I'm guessing the computer gets fried and the poor schlep behind the wheel gets to sit and think what to do next.

The strike is bright from the outside, so I'm just wondering what the immediate thoughts of the driver were.

Actually like airplanes that get struck all the time the charge is routed around the electronics through the metal shell.

I think it is very interesting the actual lightning is sky to ground (invisible) but the visible bolt is from ground to sky.

Was the driver on his cell phone??
I heard about a girl who got struck by lightning, she was at an outdoor concert. Being on her cell phone was thought to be an issue..... (why her? She was surrounded by people....)
